FAQs

How is this different from regular DonorSnap reporting?

DonorSnap’s reporting tools are still available and work great for scheduled reports and standard analysis. DonorSnap Analytics adds a conversational layer that lets you ask ad-hoc questions and get instant answers without building queries. Think of it as having both a comprehensive reporting suite AND a data analyst available 24/7.

What kinds of questions can I ask?

You can ask about donor engagement, giving patterns, retention trends, lapsed donors, campaign performance, donor segments, pledges, volunteer activity, and much more. If the data exists in your DonorSnap system, you can ask questions about it.

Can I save my reports?

Yes. Once you’ve refined a report to show exactly what you need, you can save the query to run again in the future. Saved queries can also be used as widgets in your dashboards. When you run a saved query, it generates the report using your current database information.

Can I continue previous conversations?

Each AI Reports conversation is independent. If you want to build a new report on a different topic, click “+New Chat” to start fresh. This prevents previous prompts from affecting your new results in unintended ways.

Do I need to change how I enter data?

No. DonorSnap Analytics works with your existing data structure. Continue using DonorSnap exactly as you do now.

Is my data secure?

Absolutely. DonorSnap Analytics uses AI to write query code, but your actual donor data never leaves DonorSnap. The AI only sees your field names and database structure—not your donor information. All queries run securely within your DonorSnap environment, protected by the same security standards you already trust.

What data does DonorSnap Analytics have access to?

The tool has access to almost all fields in DonorSnap, including contacts, donations, interactions, volunteer hours, notes, pledges and custom fields.

Can it modify my data?

No. DonorSnap Analytics can only read and report on your data. It cannot edit, update, or modify any records in your database. If you need to update records based on a report, you can export the results and use DonorSnap’s mass update tool.

Can multiple team members use it?

Yes. Everyone on your team with appropriate DonorSnap permissions can use Analytics to answer their own questions and generate their own insights. Note that dashboards are site-level, not user-level, so all users with access will see the same dashboards.

How much does it cost?

DonorSnap Analytics is available as an add-on to your DonorSnap subscription for $12 per month.
