All the basic fields of Name, Address, Phones, Email, and so much more.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" class=\"tscplayer_inline smart-player-embed-container-iframe embeddedObject\" style=\"overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.screencast.com\/users\/DennisMueller\/folders\/Help Videos New Skin\/media\/c3c2dc62-95a0-4bee-b874-18589be1d943\/embed\" name=\"tsc_player\" width=\"800\" height=\"385\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<h2>The Contact Tab<\/h2>\n<p>This is how the Contact Tab appears as the DonorSnap default:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/contact-tab1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1934 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/contact-tab1.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"900\" height=\"576\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>Standard DonorSnap field definitions:<\/h2>\n<p>*Add options to your drop-downs under\u00a0Maintenance &gt; Site Setup &gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/docs\/setup-donorsnap-site-lookups\/\">DonorSnap Site Lookups<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Contact Type<\/strong>: Broad types: Individual, Business, Foundation, etc.<br \/>\n*Your mouse can only select ONE option under the Contact Type. Keep it broad. This is not the place for Volunteers, Sponsors, etc. (use Attributes instead)<\/p>\n<p><strong>Attributes<\/strong>:\u00a0 Relationships with your donors; comes with Board Member, Volunteer, and Prospective Donor<br \/>\n*This is a &#8220;multi-select drop-down&#8221; which means contacts can have multiple attributes<\/p>\n<p><strong>Company<\/strong>: This is the Church, Business, Foundation that is the DONOR (then use First\/Last to designate the contact within that Company)<br \/>\nCompany names will print on the reports and contribution statement, because they are the donor; not to be confused with the Employer of an individual donor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Employer<\/strong>: For an individual donor, this is where they Work. For example, John Smith is the donor but he works at First United Bank. Handy to know if you&#8217;re calling him during the day.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MailCode<\/strong>: Different mailing options such as Do not solicit, No newsletter, etc.<br \/>\n*Remember you can remove the options that come with DonorSnap and add your own<\/p>\n<p><strong>Address Fields<\/strong>: List the main address on the Contact tab.<br \/>\nAddress lines 1 &amp; 2 are for the ONE address.<br \/>\n*Put additional addresses on the <a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/docs\/address-tab\/\">Address Tab<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong>Comments<\/strong>: 100-character text box. Something you need to see on the contact screen, such as &#8220;hard of hearing&#8221; or &#8220;spouse deceased&#8221;<br \/>\n*Remember there is an entire, unlimited <a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/docs\/notes-tab\/\">Notes Tab<\/a> where you can detail much more than the quick comments field on this screen.<br \/>\n*If your comments or Notes are becoming standard with something like Kids names or communication details, consider adding a <a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/docs\/user-defined-setup\/\">User-Defined field<\/a> to this page.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Organization Contact<\/strong>: The Solicitor or Key-staff member in charge of the donor. This is a drop-down of names populated under\u00a0Community &gt; <a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/docs\/organization-contact\/\">Organization Contact<\/a>.<br \/>\n*An email is built in to DonorSnap (if you choose to enable it). When the donor makes a donation, the Organization Contact will be emailed as notification.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Default Acknowledged<\/strong>: Check this Box if you\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">do not want to send Thank you Letters<\/span> to this donor.<br \/>\n*Means that all future donations will be &#8220;acknowledged&#8221; by DonorSnap, hence their donation will not be added to the queue of acknowledgements to send.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Active<\/strong>: Un-check this box when a donor becomes &#8220;Inactive&#8221;, however you define that. Could be that they are deceased or have asked to be removed from your mailing list, or that they have not donated in a few years.<br \/>\n*Inactive contacts remain in DonorSnap and will count against your &#8220;count&#8221; (your subscription to DonorSnap is based on # of contacts)<\/p>\n<h2>User-Defined Fields and Customizing DonorSnap<\/h2>\n<p>Here is a Contact Tab that has been customized.<br \/>\nFields have been removed, added User Defined fields appear in Blue.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/contact-tab2.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1935\" src=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/07\/contact-tab2.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"800\" height=\"536\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Add as many fields as you want!<br \/>\nTechnically the limit is 210 fields (and no one has ever come close).<\/p>\n<p>Maintenance &gt; Site Setup &gt; Field and Screen Customization &gt;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/docs\/user-defined-setup\/\">User Defined Setup<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Change your Screen Layouts<\/h3>\n<p>Remove fields you do not need, change the order of the fields on the page.<\/p>\n<p>Also, DonorSnap comes installed with a number of fields that are not visible to new users: a Deceased checkbox, Birthdate, Facebook, Twitter, Fax, etc.<\/p>\n<p>Maintenance &gt; Site Setup &gt; Field and Screen Customization &gt;\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/docs\/site-setup-screen-layouts\/\">Screen Layouts<\/a><\/p>\n<h3>Relevant Links:<\/h3>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/docs\/name-resolution-override\/\">Name Resolution Override<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/docs\/address-tab\/\">Address Tab<\/a> (for multiple addresses)<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/donorsnap.com\/support\/docs\/site-setup-screen-layouts\/\">Screen Layouts<\/a> (customize your screen, add fields not visible on your screen)<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Community &gt; Contacts &gt; Contact Tab The Contact Tab is the main source of your donor information.
